At the age of six Stanislaw Drzewiecki (Jev-YET-ski) went on his first concert tour to Japan, where, together with Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra conducted by Volker Schmidt-Gertenbach, he performed “First Children’s Piano Concerto” by Ilia Chkolnik, a Swiss composer. The following year witnessed his debut in the Lutoslawski Polish Radio Concert Studio in Warsaw, where he performed Haydn’s Concerto, accompanied by the Sinfonia Varsovia conducted by Grzegorz Nowak.
At the age of ten, he released his first CD (“Piano Concertos”). The subsequent two CD’s (“My First Gift” and “Chopin Piano Concerto & 12 Etudes”), as well as the first one, were nominated for a “Fryderyk Award” in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Moreover, Stanislaw Drzewiecki received a Grand Prix Award from the European Television in 1999 and in 2000, which was viewed by 10 million people.
He has performed in such cultural centres as London, Vancouver, New York, Mexico City, Vienna, Moscow, Copenhagen, Bergen, Paris, Brussels, and many others. He has toured Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Japan.
Recently this 18-year old musician has performed again with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in Bergen conducted by Philippe Jordan and with Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra conducted by José Cura, both concerts broadcast live by European TV stations.
In 2002, Stanislaw Drzewiecki signed an exclusive contract with Sony Classical and recorded his fourth CD with Schumann’s and Liszt’s compositions and the fifth CD with Mozart Concertos for one, two and three pianos together with his parents: Tatiana Shebanova and Jaroslaw Drzewiecki, and Orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia under Michael Zilm.
The artist’s repertoire includes fifteen piano concertos, the performance of which was conducted by, M.Blaszczyk, T.Bugaj, A.Duczmal, T.Strugala, W.Michniewski, M.Pijarowski, J.Salwarowski, A.Wit, T.Wojciechowski (Poland), A.E.Kaiser, B.Goetze (Switzerland), J.Frantz, M.Zilm (Germany), V.Zhadko (Ukraine), S.Young (Australia) and A.Hurgin, A.Podgorny, P.Kogan, L.Nicolayev, A. Anikhanov (Russia) T.Numajiri (Japan) and F.Lozano (Mexico).
In January 2003 Stanislaw made his extremely successful debut at the Carnegie Hall, Isaac Stern Auditorium. In November 2003 and April 2004 he again toured Japan performing in the rounds of concerts along with the world’s most famous artists. The tours resulted in signing a ten-year contract and arranging the series of concerts with the most excellent orchestras and conductors.
At present, Stanislaw attends the Karol Szymanowski Music Secondary School in Warsaw. His piano teacher is Tatiana Shebanova. Formerly, he was taught by such outstanding pedagogues as Professors Ida Leschinskaya, Viera Nosina and Victor Merzhanov. He is a recipient of special grants from the Poland’s Ministry of Culture, as well as from the Foundation “The Promotion of Talent”. The international telecommunication company NETIA S.A. is a sponsor of the young artist.
