A captivating, brilliant and poetic artist, Misha first came to the public attention when at the age eleven he performed a Haydn Piano Concerto. Shortly afterwards, he entered the class of Professor Kemal Gekic at the University of Novi Sad in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. In 1998, at the invitation of Lazar Berman, Misha enrolled at the prestigious school for pianists in Imola, Italy, where he studied with Berman for five years. After his successful North American debut at the “Discovery Series of the Sixth Miami International Piano Festival” in May 2003, Misha performed at the "Martha Argerich Project Festival” in Lugano, Switzerland, and at the Miami International Piano Festival in Lecce, Italy. Celebrating Horowitz’s 100 birth anniversary, Misha performed in October 2003 at the University Of Miami School Of Music’s “Festival Miami” and at the “Piano Lovers” recital series at the Steinway Piano Gallery of Boca Raton. Mr. Dacic’s will be featured in the special program ArtStreet, produced by WLRN on April 26 at 7:30 PM and May 1 at 7:00 PM. Future performances include, the opening concert of the Aventura Musical Society on February 3, 2004 and the opening concert of “The 7th Miami International Piano Festival Discovery Series” on May 12, 2004 in collaboration with violinist Igor Gruppman and cellist Mark Kosower. Misha Dacic is a recipient of support from Patrons of Exceptional Artists and was granted a special scholarship at the University of Miami where he is currently studying piano with Professor Frank Cooper and jazz with Professor Phillip Strange. |
